CREATING CONNECTIONS | #FromOnlineToOffline

The #FromOnlinetoOffline movement began my a good friend Alexa, who most of you may know as @ajfernando. She hosts events in Toronto that brings together like minded people to just connect in person. We spend so much time behind our screens and double tapping photos that sometimes we forget that we haven’t met them in person before.

It’s a movement that I support wholeheartedly and in the case for my birthday this year, instead of celebrating the fact that I’m one year older, I celebrated my connections– online and offline. I brought together some of the people and businesses that have made a mark and growing that mark in Calgary. These individuals are the most genuine people I know- the people that aren’t going to be asking every possible small business for free stuff because they just want to get free stuff and promote whatever without actually supporting the business from the forefront, or meeting people because they need something from them, but to simply connect and help build each other.

Coincidentally the event was a day after Earth Day, where Saje created a “Unplug to Connect” box that includes a candle, oils and a #nofilter question deck. We all loved the questions that were in there- that created raw, transparent conversations that we definitely would not have thought of without this deck.

Thank you to each and every one of you who came out to celebrate connections over delicious food and great conversations through the #nofilter questions deck from Saje Wellness.

I couldn’t have done this event without my favourite businesses and creators- Saje Wellness, Dirtbelly, TrueBuch, Little Tucker, Mind the Minimal, Butterblock, Sugarstone, Voltage Garage, Cakes by Lai, and Jomamaeats.

What a great event- it was nerve-racking to host but it was the most rewarding feeling afterwards and so humbling to have such a supportive group of friendsĀ and creatives.

Stay tuned for a summer event- want to help out? Send me an email and let’s brainstorm!
